MayiEducate
Hello
Thank you for visiting my website. Below you will find some additional information about my motivations, goals, and educational background.

My general teaching philosophy is in line with progressivism which is one that attempts to meet students where they are and how they like to learn to make the material engaging and applicable to their needs and goals. It also lends itself well to the area of medicine education.
My Educational Philosophy
While essentialism and perenniallism tend to be the foundations of educational philosophy during medical school training the philosophy I adhere to most when training senior medical students or residents is mainly progressivism. This is because different students and residents come to the medical profession from different backgrounds and taking that into account is important to help be successful in teaching. It is also these different backgrounds and viewpoints that are valuable in medicine and thus educating in a way that fosters and respects those differences is key to improving our healthcare field.
Motivations
My main motivations consists of seeing students achieve their educational goals and help them fulfill their potential. Additionally I was always taught to help pave the way for those that come behind me and helping mentor and teach those groups is how I do that.
Goals
- Inspire others to pursue their goals especially if that is going into a professional or higher education career path
-
To continue to grow my educational experience and participate in on going training to be a better instructor
